My certifications include EC-4 Generalist, EC-12 Special Education, EC-12 Gifted and Talented & EC-12 English as a Second Language.
I am also licensed in the state as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Coming from a Region 10 Head Start partnership district, as a Head Start teacher, I was trained annually through Region 10 Head Start Professional Development in areas of CLASS, Brigance, ERSEA, compliance, Conscious Discipline, STEAM and areas of behavior, technology and best practices for early childhood education.
I also have training in the Flip It strategy to de-escalate behavior, as well as attended TBSI (Texas Behavior Support Initiative) Severe Behavior training to promote the use of positive behavior interventions and supports for all students, including students with disabilities.
I have attended various trainings on creating an inclusive classroom for students with disabilties.
As a licensed Emergency Medical Technician in the state of Texas, I have an additional certification through the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians in Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). I also maintain current certification in Basic Life Support as a BLS Provider in CPR and AED through the American Heart Association.
