Welcome to Head Start! We are excited about the school year. There are many amazing activities held throughout the year. We are preparing your children for school and giving them a positive learning environment. Please feel welcome in our class at any time.
Our drop-off and pick-up procedures have changed this year. All students will be dropped off in the back parking lot. The front doors of the building will be locked. We are also leaving the gates locked in the afternoon until 2:00. We were having a hard time knowing when our students left. These procedures are all for the safety of our children.
Please send a backpack with extra clothes for your child. Accidents may happen! Folders will go home on Tuesdays. Correspondence from teachers and the school will be sent in these folders.
We are learning about nursery rhymes. Also, there are many events going on to close out the school year. The Mother’s Day tea is May 10th at 12:30. Transition conferences are taking place on May 11th. We will review testing and get some ideas along with materials to work on for the summer. Play Day is on May 18th. Please put your child in a red t-shirt so we are better able to keep up with all the children. Also, PLEASE send them extra clothes because the children do get wet! Monday, the 21st will be a day off for the district. It is a day that we didn’t use for bad weather. Graduation for the students moving to kindergarten next year will by on the 23rd at 11:15. We will be having an end of the year party with coke floats on the 24th. This is an early dismissal and the last day of school for students.
