  • 2011 National College of Technical Instruction (Emergency Medical Services)


Degrees and Certifications:

  • My certifications include EC-4 Generalist, EC-12 Special Education, EC-12 Gifted and Talented & EC-12 English as a Second Language.
  • I am also licensed in the state as an Emergency Medical Technician.


Professional Development:

  • I have been trained in areas of CLASS, Brigance, ERSEA, compliance, Conscious Discipline, STEAM and areas of behavior, technology and best practices for early childhood education.
  • I also have training in the Flip It strategy to de-escalate behavior, as well as attended TBSI (Texas Behavior Support Initiative) Severe Behavior training to promote the use of positive behavior interventions and supports for all students, including students with disabilities.
  • I have attended various trainings on creating an inclusive classroom for students with disabilties.
  • I am a licensed Emergency Medical Technician in the state of Texas, I maintain current certification in Basic Life Support as a BLS Provider in CPR and AED through the American Heart Association.

Current Position:

  • This is my 14th year as a classroom teacher. I have taught third grade math, kindergarten, Head Start, and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE).

Previous Position:

  • I started teaching during the 2009-2010 school year.
  • I have worked for Blue Ridge and Sherman ISD.

Family Information:

I am married to my high school sweetheart. We have two children, three dogs, and three cats.  As a family, we enjoy being outdoors, going to the zoo, wildlife sanctuaries, and fishing. When I am not at school, you can find me traveling, exploring, or planning our next adventure!

Personal Information:

  • When I am not teaching, I love to bake, spend time with my kids, and be outdoors.
  • My favorite thing to do is sit on my porch and drink hot tea! Sometimes, even in the summer!
  • I am an Associate Advisor for a police explorer program. We work with students ages 15-20 who have an interest in law enforcement.
