Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedure
We now have staggered arrival and dismissal times and drop-off and pick-up locations. Arrival time for our hallway (A Hall) is
7:30-7:45 a.m. After 7:50 is considered late. Our pick up time is 2:15-2:30 p.m. The drop-off and pick-up location for our hall is on 10th street in front of the main entrance. Please stay in your car – we will get your child out of the car at arrival and will put them in the car & buckle in car seat at dismissal. Also, please use the Jones/Massong car tag we gave you the first day of school. This will help us at dismissal time in identifying who you are picking up.
Car Seat Safety
It is Texas State Law that Preschool aged children be in a car be in a car seat while in a moving vehicle. Please be aware that if you are picking up your child you MUST have a car seat for them to ride in. If you are picking up through the drive thru line, no staff member will be allowed to load your child if you do not have a car set. If you are in the line and do not have a car seat, you will be asked to park and walk up to get your child. This is for the safety of all of our students, and it is the law.
Reporting an Absence
Due to a change in record keeping, in addition to phoning the school on that day of absence whenever a student is absent from school due to illness or other reasons, the student—upon arrival or return to school—must bring a note signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence. If a student is absent for more than 3 days due to personal illness, the student should bring a note from a doctor or health clinic verifying the illness or condition that caused the student’s extended absence from school. The notes may be given to the student’s teacher and be documented by the campus secretary.
Your child will need a backpack for school. We send class work, crafts, and important notes home weekly.
Please check your child’s backpack for the Tuesday folder. We send information/correspondence from the teacher and the school in these folders.
Change of Clothes
Spills and accidents can occur in school. Please make sure your child has a change of clothes, and underwear/pullup. These will be stored in the classroom in case they are needed. Please note as the weather changes, you will need to switch the summer clothing for fall/winter clothing.
